PM SHRI Model Government Senior Secondary School, Gohar is one of the oldest and most renowned educational institutions of District Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. The school has a rich legacy of more than a century and has played a vital role in imparting quality education to generations of students.
The institution was established in 1912 as a Government Primary School. With the passage of time and the growing educational needs of the region, it was upgraded to a Government Middle School in 1928 and further to a Government High School in 1951. In 2001, the school was upgraded to a Government Senior Secondary School, enabling students to pursue higher secondary education.
In the year 2023, the school was notified as PM SHRI Model Government Senior Secondary School, Gohar under the prestigious PM SHRI scheme of the Government of India. Further strengthening its academic framework and national outlook, the school was affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 2025.
